So it worked out after all with Katowice. A nice, clean campground with standard amenities—plus a little extra for those who are interested. Starting with the reception area, where you aren’t exactly greeted with overwhelming enthusiasm. Check-in was still hassle-free, though. Aside from “the usual” amenities—like clean restrooms with toilets, showers, dishwashing facilities, a washer and dryer, electricity, and water and waste disposal—the site also offers a pool and its own tennis court. You can also rent bikes here, take a stroll by the nearby ponds, and enjoy a cozy dinner at one of the nearby restaurants in the evening. There are shopping options nearby, but this requires a long walk or, indeed, bicycles. Bicycles are also useful for getting into the city; we didn’t notice any public transportation within walking distance. This otherwise positive campground does have one downside, however: its proximity to the highway. Despite the sound barrier, the monotonous hum from the highway is audible almost nonstop, day and night, and becomes annoying over time. And don’t forget: RV drivers say hello to one another.

A beautiful campground; despite its location between highways, there is little noise

A very good campground. Separate sites marked off by hedges. Clean restrooms and showers. A place to empty waste tanks and discharge directly from the RV. A kitchen and dining hall. Easy to get to. Good value.

This is a beautiful and well-maintained campground. The restrooms were very clean. Since we were here in mid-to-late March, the outdoor water spigots weren’t open yet, but that wasn’t a big deal because we could use the water in the restrooms. There are also a few nice areas where you can relax by the fire or watch TV. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. There’s electricity and Wi-Fi that works very well. The campground is beautifully situated by a lake, with a steakhouse and a small shop or something like that. It’s also right off the highway, which you can hear, but it didn’t bother us. On the other hand, you can get to Katowice quickly by car. We paid 126 zloty per night, which I think is totally reasonable. Of course, the price also includes disposal of the chemical toilet. We would come back.
